2. Senado Square and St. Paul Ruins
The reason why i came to Hongkong again is this place actually, St. Paul Ruins. St. Paul Ruins is a Catholic Church built in 1602 - 1640, but destroyed by fire in 1835. The ruins located near the Senado square, this place have lots of stores and restaurant.
The Delicious Portuguese Egg Tart
I also visit Macau Museum which located beside of the St. Paul ruins. inside the musuem, we could find some information about the history of Macau comprehensively. the insight this museum emphasis about the silk road that happened back then. At the top floor of the Museum, there is also an exhibition about the facts and discovery of Oriental culture which found in French. This fact represent the commerce activity that happened between these two continents, which also could be look by the pattern of gowns that French lady usually wear was originally from China. In conclusion, it is about the history of Macau and its activity back then.
St Paul Ruins in weekend
After visit both of the museum, you could go to the outdoor of the museum, the outdoor part is the museum is integrated with the fortress, so you could see around the city from the top of the fortress. I like it this place because you could go to some places in this area with just walking. it saves lots of transportation fees since the transportation system in Macau is messed up for me, like there is one route of bus which is so ridiculous, the bus didn't stop although it passes and one place there are 2 bus stop which is for the same routes. I wasted about an hour for wait and figure it out how to take the bus. in the end, i gave up and just took shuttle bus to 'City of Dreams' Casino
Entrance fees: cheap (worth for the knowledge)
Go at afternoon, it's so hot (tips)
3. Casino
The main business of Macau, without question is gambling. people come and go to gamble, to fight by their luck to get rich. in this city there are more than 10 big casinos which providing you the best services to attract tourist to their casino. The famouse MGM and Wynn group until the phenomenal Grand Lisboa and The Venetian, all of this casino provide the shuttle bus to the ferry terminal, to make their tourist is comfortable and don't go to another casino since you've already came to them. I went to 3 places (Grand Lisboa, City of Dreams and actually in a short time and i will try to give you some short review about this 3 places.
Inside of Canal Shopping at Venetian
- Grand Lisboa: the most futuristic Building, integrated with Lisboa hotel. downtown of Macau city, just walking 10 mins to Senado Square
- City of Dreams: the best place for the youngster, have the most happening pub in Macau, integrated with Hardrock Hotel. SOHO of Macau. (My favorite)
- Venetian: The best place for family. Dad going to gamble, Mom going to shopping, children going to play. Has a huge of food court will provide you any kind of foods which are more reasonable price if you go to the restaurant. Has the brilliant idea of creating Venetian Canal indoor in Asia. even if the real Venetian will be drowned we still have this one (just joking)
Try to use the shuttle bus facilities which given from the casinos (tips). The route of shuttle that i used, maybe could be your reference also:
- Outer Ferry terminal - Grand Lisboa
- Macau Tower - City of Dreams
- The Venetian - Outer Ferry terminal.
